I INSIST YOU DESIST!

I have had enough. This brutalisation has to be brooked. This kind of carnage cannot continue. Why do we commit, collude, conspire and then condone the crucifixion of the English language? Before anyone of you accuses me of cosying up to our erstwhile masters – brutal and marauding they may have been – let me … Continue reading

A chief Guest

Of desultory applause and ‘lawful’ suspense! The scene is straight out of an incident that happened a few days ago. I reluctantly agree to be the Chief Guest at a function related to theatre. A taxi comes to take me to the other end of the city. It is obviously a long journey. I am … Continue reading

Of Stars in the Sky in my Mind’s Eye

Over 25 years ago, (it was 1989), I was met by the Director of The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium who asked if I would record the English commentary for the first programme to be projected in the sky dome. I’ve done it ever since. Today, 17/01/17, I was driven in from Whitefield by an Ola driver … Continue reading

Tsuinn Tapak @ Jagriti. The onomatopoeic title captures the essence of the performance - which is to present children with quick moments that are joyful and thoughtful. Through a blend of sound, rhythm, music, movement, and blasts of 'magic', the performance will invite children to engage with, and learn from, a series of experiences - ranging from the manic to the calm, from din to silence, from the ordinary to the extraordinary. While avoiding the single narrative , the performance employs a non-linear structure, made up of short vignettes that transport the child to a world of diverse possibilities. Minimalist in its form, the performance is designed to travel and happen with minimum fuss. In other words, the production has simple props and is not dependant on technical requirements usually associated with performance. Duration : 60 mins Age limit : 4+ Ticket Price : 300/- Tickets selling real fast on : https://in.bookmyshow.com/plays/tssuin-tapak/ET00081082
